3th Annual Nursing Educational Meeting: Hot Topics in 2014

This live educational activity is sponsored by the Justin Parker Neurological Institute (JPNI) and Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates (BNA), and is accredited through the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
Our guest speakers included Pamela Howes, registered nurse and clinical staff developer at Longmont United Hospital; Dr. Sharad Rajpal of Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates; Erin Watson, certified speech and language pathologist at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center; Carolyn Buppert, nurse practitioner and attorney; and Dr. Hollie Caldwell, keynote speaker and Associate Dean for the School of Nursing at Platt College.
The purpose of this educational event is to provide timely, relevant, educational information to nurses. Lecture topics were identified through previous years’ evaluations and our planning committee: nursing assessment of the acute abdomen, traumatic brain injury assessment, and long term effects, legal issues keeping nurses awake at night and elder abuse. Completion of this event offered up to 3.2 contact hours.
