Saturday, March 17, 2012

Our 1st Annual Nursing Education Meeting provided timely, relevant, educational information to nurses. Lecture topics were identified via an anonymous online survey and included: What Nurses Should Know About Aging and the Brain, Legal Issues in Nursing, Nursing Care of the Anticoagulated Patient and a motivational lecture, Nurse Power. Our guest speakers included Dr. Kara Beasley with Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates; Irnie Johnson, medical specialty trial attorney; Dr. Toby Trujillo, Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Colorado; and Donna Cardillo, RN, keynote speaker, columnist, and author.

Close to 80 nurses and staff attended our first Nursing Education Meeting, representing hospitals and medical practices spanning the Front Range. This live educational activity is sponsored by the Justin Parker Neurological Institute (JPNI) and Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates (BNA), and is accredited through the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and offered up to 3 contact hours.
