Common Misconceptions about Deep Brain Stimulation

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is a surgical treatment for movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), essential tremor (ET) and dystonia. In Parkinson’s disease, DBS is best suited for patients whose medication fails to provide adequate symptom control or in whom medications cause intolerable side effects. (more…)
