Alex Ashton, PA-C

Alex Ashton, PA-C


Alex Ashton grew up in the Denver area and has always been fascinated by medicine. For years he worked at a local Ski Patrol and as a Paramedic in Boulder and Weld counties before graduation from the Yale University Physician Associate Program in 2002. At BNA, he works closely with Dr. Villavicencio. Alex enjoys the challenges neurosurgery offers and is excited to work with highly skilled, experienced, and motivated surgeons.

Eric Busch, PA-C

Eric Bush, PA-C


Eric Busch has been a Physician Assistant at BNA since 2002. He graduated from Cornell University Medical College Physician Assistant program. He made his decision to pursue a medical career after working as an outdoor educator at the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

Gene Cook, PA-C

Gene Cook, PA-C


Gene Cook graduated from the University of Colorado Denver's Physician Assistant program. He enjoys working alongside his colleagues at BNA, and the opportunity to continually expand his insight and skill in treating neurological disorders. Gene's interests include playing volleyball and spending time outdoors with his family. Growing up in an Air Force family has afforded Gene the opportunity to live in many different places and he is happy to call Colorado home.

Michael Kiley, PA-C

Michael Kiley, PA-C


Michael was originally attracted to medicine after taking a course at the University of Colorado at Boulder to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He has worked on ski patrol and as an EMT at Boulder Community Hospital before graduating from Albany Medical College's Physician Assistant Program. He has experience in Emergency Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery. He enjoys the challenges of Neurosurgery and especially guiding patients thru their recovery process. Michael enjoys outdoor activities with a special love for motorcycles, camping, fishing and hiking.

Sara Kaldec, PA-C

Sara Kaldec, PA-C


Sara Kaldec, a North Dakota native, became interested in medicine while attending Colorado State University. Her work in neuroscience and endocrinology research while at CSU brought her closer to her decision to become a physician assistant. Between her time in research and her PA training at the University of Colorado, she worked for a nonprofit which served children with neuromuscular disorders and coached high school track and field. Outside of BNA, Sara enjoys anything outdoors including running, cycling, and ski mountaineering.

Vickie Beloy, PA-C

Vickie Beloy, PA-C


Vickie grew up in Las Vegas and has been interested in surgery since she was a child. She joined Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates after working at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, first as a general surgery PA resident and then as a vascular surgery PA. Prior to her training at Johns Hopkins, Vickie graduated from Touro University Nevada with a master's of Physician Assistant Studies in 2010. She also has a master's degree in medical science from Boston University School of Medicine. Vickie enjoys working in such an innovated practice and being able to participate in the care of their neurosurgical patients.

Justin Call, PA-C

Justin Call, PA-C


Justin developed a passion for practicing medicine after taking an EMT course during a sabbatical from his previous work as an architectural designer. He volunteered for several years, and then advanced his education to become a Paramedic. Justin worked in Boulder and Jefferson counties for more than four years on a 911 ALS ambulance. Still desiring to learn more about medicine, and to increase his ability to provide more thorough patient care, Justin decided to become a Physician Assistant. He attended the Duke University Physician Assistant program, graduating in 2010. Justin then worked for nearly two years with the Duke University Hospital Cardiothoracic Surgery service; providing postoperative care for highly acute surgical patients. Justin is very honored and excited to be able to work with Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates, and strives to continue to provide the highest standard of patient care.

Carrie Riantong, RN

Carrie Riangton, RN


Carrie Riantong grew up in the Front Range area and received her nursing degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Thereafter, she started her nursing career at Longmont United Hospital in perioperative services.

Currently, Carrie is working to achieve a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado with the goal to practice as an Adult Nurse Practitioner.

Jennifer Juarez, RN

Jennifer Juarez, RN


Jennifer Juarez is a registered nurse and has been working with BNA since 2010. She was an aviation electrician in the United States Navy for five years, after which she pursued her nursing career in Colorado, initially in intensive care.
